Antenatal & Postnatal

Pregnancy is a time of great changes to your body. It will be adapting to your growing bump and you are likely to feel a few more aches and pains. Staying physically active has so many benefits to not only yourself, but also your baby.

Benefits include improving cardiovascular health, reducing the occurrence of gestational diabetes and high blood pressure, promoting better sleep and also psychological wellbeing.

Postnatally, finding the time to do something by yourself, for yourself is tricky to say the least. However, by doing so you will experience the rewards both physically and psychologically.

Integrating physical activity that is appropriate to your unique set of circumstances is hugely beneficial. After having a baby you are more than likely going to experience weakness in the pelvic floor and abdominal areas. The consequential instability and limited core strength will predispose you to back and pelvic issues. Pilates is a great way to gradually build strength and help you during this period of recovery and beyond
